Lumenergi Intelligent Lighting Control Installed at Bank of New York Mellon
News

NEWARK, Calif. – November 16, 2010 – Lumenergi Inc., the leading provider of energy efficient lighting control systems, today announced that its Netlight lighting technology is being implemented at BNY Mellon’s Oriskany, NY facility. Lumenergi has partnered with MEG Control Products and Day Automation on the Advanced Lighting Control Project, as part of the bank’s pursuit of an Energy Star rating and LEED for Existing Buildings Certification.

The BNY Mellon lighting project is the first to receive a rebate through National Grid’s Large Commercial Custom Lighting Program, a state-run initiative providing financial incentives and rebates for large-scale commercial energy efficiency retrofits. The program aims to help building owners significantly lower operating costs through the installation of efficient, high performance lighting systems, such as Lumenergi’s intelligent lighting control offering.

The partnership with MEG Control Products on the Central New York installation marks Lumenergi’s continued expansion into the energy-intensive Northeastern states. BNY Mellon, a recent EPA Green Power Leadership Award recipient, is committed to implementing energy efficiency retrofits across their many other Northeast locations.

“Lumenergi is pleased to add BNY Mellon to its growing roster of commercial customers,” said Michael D’Amour, CEO of Lumenergi. “Businesses in the Northeast are embracing intelligent lighting control at an accelerated pace to achieve maximum energy savings. We are appreciative of our partnership with MEG Controls and look forward to working together on our robust project pipeline.”

Lighting fixtures at the BNY Mellon Oriskany location will be controlled through Lumenergi’s Lighting Management Control System (LMCS) and managed through Lumenergi software and application server. Advanced control strategies include time of use scheduling, occupancy sensing, task tuning and daylight harvesting, as well the most comprehensive demand response and automatic load shedding system available to tie the building into the Smart Grid. These features not only decrease energy use by at least 50 percent, but are also proven to increase occupant comfort and worker productivity.

“We chose Lumenergi’s technology for the BNY Mellon project as the most cost-effective approach to reduce kWh consumption,” said Nell Ziegler, CEO of MEG Control Products. “Additionally, Lumenergi’s fully automated controls and DALI based light drivers promise and deliver smooth integration and easy installation.”

Lumenergi’s move into the Northeastern states is underscored by its recently announced plans to retrofit the James C. Cleveland Federal Building and the Warren B. Rudman U.S. Courthouse, both located in Concord, New Hampshire.
