Cutting-edge Energy Technologies on Display at World Energy Engineering Congress

The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) is pleased to announce the World Energy Engineering Congress (WEEC)’s return to Washington, DC. This year’s event will be held December 8-9 (Conference 8-10th), 2010 at the Washington Convention Center.

The 33rd WEEC will feature 250 speakers, including Pulitzer Prize-winning author Thomas Friedman, who will give the keynote address “Hot, Flat, and Crowded” at the Opening Session on December 8th, and Wal-Mart’s Vice-President of Architecture and Construction, Michael Gardner, who will speak on “Wal-Mart’s Sustainability Journey” at the event’s closing luncheon on December 10th.

The WEEC is hosted by Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and is presented by AEE featuring association leader, the Alliance to Save Energy, along with U.S. EPA ENERGY STAR and other sponsors.

The WEEC will feature a large, 15-track conference agenda, a full line-up of seminars on a variety of current topics, and a comprehensive 100,000 ft2 exhibition of the world’s most promising new technologies. View a sample listing of new products and technologies to be displayed at WEEC below:

3M will showcase a revolutionary innovation in the science of optics that will forever change the way buildings manage light and energy. Also on display will be EFT Energy’s Energy Manager Auto Start, a real-time web-based plug and play software; ACR Systems’s new Rogowski Transducer, the “PowerBullet;” and PoolPak’s Air-to-Air heat recovery option for its SWHP-SE model units. In addition, LEI Products will introduce Bio-Burner®, a multi-fuel, multi-day boiler/burner with a universal feed system that creates heat energy by burning both traditional and nontraditional bio-fuels.

Building Performance Equipment (BPE) will unveil its new generation of Air-to-Air Energy Recovery Modules. Adapx will feature its new Capturx solutions for automating energy audit paperwork with digital pens. Schwank will present its new heating equipment, which was developed for industrial facilities and reduces energy consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 60%. Sustainable Real Estate Solutions, Inc. (SRS) will feature the industry's first large-scale proprietary Peer Building Benchmarking® system.  Multistack will exhibit its newly-developed the Virtual Moveable End Cap (VME) Water-To-Water heat pump.

Cypress Envirosystems will feature its new Wireless Steam Trap Monitor at the WEEC; precision-Paragon will display new ultra efficient hi-bay LED; Nano Filtration Technologies will display new LEAF HEPA filters which use a bicomponent spunbond technology Winged Fiber media; and Benjamin Electric will showcase new technology for embedded power metering. In addition, Rockwell Automation will discuss their Industrial GreenPrint methodology, which helps companies implement a holistic and strategic WAGES resource management strategy.
EnergyCAP, Inc. will launch a beta version of the new fully online EnergyCAP energy tracking software at WEEC 2010. Affinity Automation will feature its new Utilitrend utility tracking, trending, and reporting tool. GreenTech Energy Company will feature its new PV/Therm Solar Panel, which is designed to generate both electricity and thermal energy. Also, Leviton will show the latest innovations in using wireless, self-powered lighting control solutions for commercial applications.

The WEEC is the nation’s largest energy efficiency conference and exposition and addresses new advances in lighting, HVAC, and energy management technologies. Subjects include: energy policy, high performance buildings, and energy management “best practices” for the federal, commercial, institutional, and industrial marketplace. Stimulus funding updates, green jobs, and financing are covered in detail. New for 2010 WEEC is collocated with Ecobuild, providing attendee crossover for events and expo.
